Google recently (Tuesday) released a plug-in for Outlook users that allows them to sync their mailbox in Outlook with their Google Apps account.  Keep in mind this was doable to a certain extent before the release of this plugin.  The catch with this announcement is that only Premier and Education Google Apps accounts can take advantage of this feature.  We think it’s a great move to release a tool to allow a user to seamlessly use Outlook with Google Apps, however, we feel this should be available to the regular Google Apps users as well.  The biggest hurdle with any Google Apps migration we have performed is the fact that people don’t want to exchange their familiar email client like Outlook for gmail’s web-interface.  With the release of this plug-in, users can still use Outlook and take advantage of the Google Apps platform without having to experience a major change in the way they utilize email.
